Stay Curious, natural cotton
Summerteez is a small studio. We make graphic tees about software, science and getting off this planet, printed on heavyweight cotton in runs small enough that somebody here has handled every box that goes out.
The work started the way most side projects do. We wanted a shirt with a decent joke on it that was not printed on a 140gsm blank in a font chosen by a spreadsheet. There was plenty of one or the other, and almost nothing that was both. So we picked heavier blanks, drew the designs ourselves, and printed a first batch to see whether anyone else felt the same way about it.
Everything is printed with water based ink. It soaks into the cotton instead of sitting on top of it, so there is no stiff plastic panel across the chest and no cracking after a summer of washing. It costs more and it is fussier to print. It is also the only reason a graphic tee still looks like itself in year three.
We ship inside the United States, we answer our own email, and we answer it within one business day. If something turns up wrong, send a photo and we will replace it at our cost. That is most of the policy, and the rest of it is written plainly on the shipping and returns page.
How we work.
The joke comes first
A tee has one line and about two seconds to land. Most of what we draw does not survive that test, which is why the range is twelve designs and not two hundred.
One design, one colour
There is no colour picker here. Each design was drawn for the body it sits on, so the colour is part of the joke rather than a dropdown.
Good blanks, quietly
Heavyweight combed cotton, pre shrunk, shoulder to shoulder taping, a relaxed unisex cut. Nothing on the outside of the garment says who made it.
Small runs
We print in batches and reprint what sells through. When we call something a limited run, that is the whole truth of it and it will not come back.
